Meet the Team

Group Members

Jessica Eberly
Technical Writer
jle68@drexel.edu

Jessica Eberly is pursuing a Mechanical Engineering Major and an Electrical Engineering minor at Drexel University. She hopes to specialize her studies to one day work in either automation or alternative energy. For the pneumatic recorder, Jessica serves as the technical writer for the group. For her previous freshman design project, she served as the main mechanical designer and programmer for an autonomous robot. She is a member of the Engineering Learning Community and Society of Women Engineers at Drexel.

Emily Harkness
Arduino Programming
eah97@drexel.edu

Emily Harkness is an Electrical Engineering student at Drexel University. She was previously Head of Programming for her Engineering Design Lab II team. For this project she created the algorithm for an autonomous robot. She was also an Analyst for her Engineering Design Lab I team. Within the context of the pneumatic recorder project, she covers arduino programming which involves both an understanding of the musical components of the project as well as the C programming language. She is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers and an active member of the Drexel TrebleMakers, an acappella group.

Kevin Karch
Cicuit Designer/Fabricator
ksk62@drexel.edu

Kevin Karch is a first year undergraduate student at Drexel University, currently pursuing a double major in Computer and Electrical Engineering. He is primarily interested in the hardware side of each major and plans to focus his studies on wireless communications systems and wearable technologies, hopefully securing a job and a career cemented in either of those ever-growing fields. In this project, he is responsible for the design and integration of the circuits, including the micro-controller, relay board, and solenoids within the system, as well as  various parts of the fabrication process, including but not limited to design and machining.

Allie Ray
Research Compiler/Fabricator
ajr359@drexel.edu

Allie Ray is an undergraduate student currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering at Drexel University. She hopes to focus her major on Aeronautical Engineering and Mechanical Systems. During her last project she was in charge of  the mechanical design of a sensor based programmable robot and is excited for this freshmen design project at the opportunity to learn even more. She is in charge of building the structural support for the recorder and attached pneumatic and electrical components as well as maintaining this website. She is also an active member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
